The Department of Precision Instrument has held 2017 graduate and undergraduate ceremonies at Classroom 401, the Second Teaching Building on the morning of June 30th . The ceremonies attended Dean of Department of Precision Instrument Ouyang Zheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of DPI Liu Qiang, vice dean Tan Qiaofeng, Zhanggaofei, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of DPI Wu Guanhao, representatives of Graduate tutors, undergraduate teachers in charge, counsellors, all 2017 graduate and undergraduate students as well as their relatives and friends, totally 200 individuals. The ceremonies were presided over by Wu Guanhao.
Prof. Ouyang Zheng, Dean of DPI, made an oration primarily. He offered his hearty congratulations on the smooth graduation of all the 2017 graduates and undergraduates and fully affirmed the achievements and progress the students have accomplished in the semesters. He also put forward three hopes for the students: everyone in the road of life should always adhere to their dreams, be courageous to try and capable of giving up; everyone in the new job or work should explore with responsibility, have down-to-earth attitude, be prudent and willing to loneliness and work hard; everyone should bear in mind the teaching of our Alma Mater, always use the motto of "unremitting self-improvement, social commitment" as strict demands on yourselves, clear vain man, be pure in mind and body, be steadfast to business and work, be a dignified and imposing Tsinghuaer and DPIer.
Tan Qiaofeng, Vice Dean of DPI, read out the list of undergraduate and graduate students who received outstanding graduates of Beijing, excellent graduates and outstanding graduates of Tsinghua University and those of Beijing, and congratulated the winners. The ceremony also retrospected the major events of the 2017 undergraduate and graduate life as well as their trace of career in Tsinghua and the honors and awards they have achieved through the video broadcasting. All these recollections provoked graduates’ reluctance to be apart with the alma mater at parting. Speeches were given to the graduates with the innermost entrust by the grade director of 2013-entering undergraduates and representative of teachers Zhao Kaichun and representative of Alumni, Assistant Prof. Hu Tianjian from Beijing Tracking and Communication Technology Research Institute. Zhang Xiaosheng and Ma Donghan, represents of undergraduates and graduates sequentially, appreciated the cultivation of alma mater and our dear department on behalf of all the students graduated and expressed the determination of going forward courageously and put into effect Tsinghua ideals and beliefs.
At the end of the ceremony, the department leadership present as a gift a flash memory disk to each graduates, on which each of their names had been engraved. After the ceremony, all the teachers and students took a group photo in front of the Auditorium.
