Across the country from family and the first among our friends to reproduce, we have embarked on this wonderful and wild ride of parenthood with little help. I’m learning as we go.
The transition into a fully-fledged mommy has altered my lifestyle and perspective in numerous ways, and its also been a lesson in domesticality. I left the full-time professional world to stay home with Lil and after a year and a half, I’m beginning to work from home more and more. Finding the balance between work and the life consuming joys and trials of motherhood is an ongoing feat. The title There She Grows refers to our daughter but also to me, as I am growing into these new roles.
Lil is an absolute joy and a total handful. She is very funny, very smart and very strong willed. She is known for her appetite, her extremely early talking and vocabulary, her friendliness, love of animals and of the water. Additionally, her stubbornness, assertiveness and “strong” personality. Every day she amazes me, entertains me, melts my heart and completely wears me out. This blog is in part for family and friends to see what she’s been up to, and also for me to document some of the little things, so that these small moments need not be lost. Of course I never feel like i’m able to keep up with all I’d like to share; this blog does no justice at all to what life really is like with this kid.
